
Dr. Christopher J. McGlinn
Psychologist
Christopher J. McGlinn, Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychologist with over twenty years’ experience working with school-aged children and adolescents. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at the Devereux Day School and was also trained for 3 years in therapy and research under Robert Selman, Ph.D. of Harvard University and Aaron Katcher, M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. McGlinn received his Ph.D. from Temple University. He has been certified
as a School Psychologist since 2000. He directed a child residential treatment
program for nine years and has a proven track record of improving conditions
and outcomes in classrooms, treatment settings, and home environments.
He has received praise from Magellan Behavioral Health and Bucks County
Children & Youth for his child-friendly treatment strategies and for
the effectiveness of his interventions.
Dr. McGlinn specializes in psychological / educational assessment, as
well as educational and behavioral consultation. He utilizes cognitive-behavioral
strategies to address difficulties associated with attention, organization
& motivation in school, anxiety, defiance, and tantrumming behavior,
as well as difficulties encountered by children with Aspergers Syndrome
and High-Functioning Autism.
Dr. McGlinn regularly provides youth and their families with individually-tailored learning materials so that acquiring and practicing new coping strategies is not limited to the therapy office.
Dr. McGlinn serves Bryn Mawr, Ardmore, Wayne, Newtown Square, Haverford, Villanova, Wynnewood, Radnor, Havertown, Berwyn, Devon, Paoli, Rosemont, Gladwyne, and Narberth, PA, and other local areas of Pennsylvania in Montgomery County, Delaware County, and Chester County.
